Summary of main policy cover for UK Employers Liability Insurance

By law employers are required to insure against their legal liability for injuries to employees happening at work.
 

Covers the policyholder’s legal liability to pay damages in the event of:
• bodily injury, death or disease
caused to employees during the course of their employment.
Indemnity Limit - £10,000,000 inclusive of legal costs.
Extensions to cover automatically include:
• Health and Safety at Work Act defence costs - but not fines or penalties
• Contractual Liability
• Unsatisfied court judgements in favour of employees.
Injury to working partners may also be included - subject to additional premium.
